Change the Status Quo
Young women and non-binary people may not consider security a viable career path when they do not see themselves represented in leadership and mentoring roles. In fact, because of these gaps, qualified individuals are often left out of training, mentoring, and speaking opportunities, hampering their professional growth. This issue is further pronounced in the field of information security, where diverse and creative talent is needed the most.
Our goal is to stand united and help change direction not only for the future of the technology industry and for the potential future careers of women in technology at each DOS event.
We need more gender diversity in cybersecurity
“While the number of professionals in the industry grew by more than 700,000 in 2020, women still only represent approximately 25% of the cybersecurity workforce.” — ISC2
Now is the time to change the status quo by advocating for more women to consider cybersecurity as a possible career path.
Day of Shecurity hosts meetups, virtual, and in-person conferences providing educational and career talks for women and nonbinary people who would like to explore or grow their professional careers in the cybersecurity industry.
